Older generations in Tainan share tales of a secret passage that connects from the ancient well at Chikan Tower to Anping; in the Old Five Channels district, a half moon well situated in front of Hai’an Temple, during the Dragon Boat Festival believers would draw “noon water” to ward off illnesses and seek blessings. The artist reimagined the Half Moon Well, transforming it into a piece of street furniture, symbolizing the coexistence of past and present while serving as a portal between the real and virtual worlds. Through scanning the QR code provided, viewers can create a virtual avatars to navigate through Verse U and interact with others.
