The term “lâng-kheh” translates as “guest” in Taiwanese. Positioned at the back side of the ventilation tower, two seats crafted in the shape of a bollard are installed. Upon sitting, visitors activate air pressure mechanisms that emit sounds, harmonizing with the installation “Come, take a seat” nearby. This arrangement invites visitors to envision the vibrant hustle and bustle of ships and commerce that once animated the dock area of the Old Five Channels. The engagement of guests serves as the most enchanting facet of this artwork, infusing it with life and meaning.
