Hua Shuixian was a ritual held by sailors on the boat when praying to the Shuixian zunwang (God of water). The work is located near Shuixian Gong Temple and the Nan-Shih Port built in the Qing Dynasty (Shuixian Gong Market now). “Hua Shuixian –The Canal of Light” utilizes Light as a medium to connect virtual and real spaces, presenting the image of rowing a boat in a vast expanse of ocean. The work is interactive, allowing for an immersive experience. When participants interact with the lighting installation, the lighting effects would change correspondingly – The exterior tower light dimmed, and simultaneously, the interior light brightened and dynamically presenting effects like rapidly flowing water. The faster it worked by users, the distinctive lighting effects would be.
